Mary Wislocki, Ph.D.

Director of the ARC

 

Mary Wislocki is the first director of the Ruth Sharkey Academic Resource Center. She comes to Seton Hall with years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and assisting students, in and out of the classroom. Most recently, she was the director of the Writing Center at New York University. Mary teaches writing at SHU, presents frequently at a number of national conferences, and serves on the editorial board of The Writing Center Journal. Her articles and reviews have been published in The Writing Center Journal and The Writing Lab Newsletter. Her essay on the early history of NYU’s writing center, “Glamour Days,” is included in a larger, collaborative endeavor, “Polylog,” which is forthcoming in Composition Studies. Dr. Wislocki received her Ph.D. in literacy and composition at NYU. Her current research interests include the oral histories of writing centers and program administration and assessment practices.
