About Us
The PMPDPP program is
funded by the State of New Jersey’s Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) and is a
four year undergraduate degree program; all students study on a full-time basis.
Most students study a science or math major in
the College of Arts and Sciences. PMPDPP undergraduate
students receive academic, career, and personal counseling. Students work with
the program's Student Development Specialist (SDS) to plan course work in preparation for advanced
level science courses, as well as the student’s own academic interests to
develop an education plan that will assist in establishing ones
academic and career goals. Tutoring in key science disciplines is offered at
least twice weekly. A sense of community is fostered through meetings
with the SDS, Director, and monthly student meetings.
After acceptance, students must attend a six-week program in the summer prior
to their Fall semester. This program offers students
six college credits in college-level chemistry and mathematics, a writing
workshop, and additional supplemental courses designed to facilitate the
transition to studying at the college level.
