"Danticat's
clarity of vision takes on the resonance of folk art . . . extraordinarily
successful"-The New York Times Book Review
Edwidge
Danticat, still in her twenties, is the author of two highly acclaimed
works of fiction, the stunning Breath, Eyes, Memory (Vintage,
1994) and the collection of short stories Krik? Krak! (Vintage,
1991), which was a finalist for the National Book Award. Both
books depict her troubled but enchanting homeland, the island
of Haiti. Publication rights to Breath, Eyes, Memory have
been sold in seven countries. Edwidge Danticat has also worked

Haitian cinema and political torture.
