unique poet of avant-garde wit and experiment, Kenneth Koch is
one of America's most prolific writers. His many books of poetry
include On the Edge, Seasons on Earth, Days and Nights, The
Burning Mystery of Anna in 1951, The Art of Love, The Pleasures
of Peace, When the Sun Goes On, and Thank You. He has
also published many plays, a novel, short stories, and books on
teaching children to write poetry. This spring will see the publication
of two new volumes: Straits, a book of poems, and Making
Your Own Days: The Pleasure of Reading and Writing Poetry.
Kenneth Koch was awarded the Bollingen Prize for his two 1994
books One Train and On the Great Atlantic Rainway.
He lives in New York City and teaches at Columbia University.
