The Discoveries of a Maverick Sociologist explores the work
of Seton Hall professor of criminology Lonnie Athens, author of
The Creation of Dangerous Violent Criminals and Violent Criminal
Acts & Actors Revisited. Joined by University of Arizona sociologist
John Johnson, an expert in the study of violent crime, and moderated
by journalist Maia Szalavitz, the panel will take up the issue of
violence in America today, its variant forms, and its competing
explanations.
